The plane starts in the air and then crashes every time. Won't allow me to switch airports X-Plane 10

I believe by default the plane should start a few inches above the ground in X-Plane and is then dropped to "find" the ground. This should not crash the plane and you should still be able to fly, although it can make a crash noise.

For help on switching airports, please provide the steps you've already tried.
