Hi,

I am sure that this has been asked before.

XP has joystick button assignments for the autopilot, like Servos toggle, and Servos on etc. But what many people would like to see is an additional button assignment for Servos OFF.  Many airplanes have a dedicated  autopilot disconnect button on the yoke. All Boeings do. Using the Servo toggle function is not good because on Boeings (and possibly other airplanes) the autopilot disconnect button has two functions. The first push on that button will disconnect the AP. The second push on the same button will silence the warning horn that sounds when the AP is being disconnected.  BTW, the Flight Director should NOT be affected by this and stay on, if previously selected.

So please, would you consider adding a joystick button assignment for the Autopilot Servos OFF function?  Surely this cannot be that hard to accomplish.

Many thanks and all the best,

Werner

Agree totally.  There are button assignment possibilities to do everything conceivable with an auto pilot ... but no assignment to simply turn it on or off, which omission requires grabbing the mouse to activate a screen cockpit switch.  Will have to find the keyboard input that kills or activates the AP.  This is so un-Austin  like!  Hopefully I’m wrong and the assignment is obvious and I just can’t see it.
