I have tried the demo several times now and I can not have it run smoothly on my mac. It runs slow, and there is a lot of frame clipping/missing, although I see that the framerate is around 40 fps.

I have also tried to do some adjustments to the rendering options. Do you have any clues?

I am running X-Plane 64 bit on this computer:

Macpro (mid2012)

OSX Yosemite 10.10.2

2X2,66 GHz 6-core

24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC

ATI Radeon HD 5870  1024 MB

Hi all!
I recently ordered too many of FSX Steam edition software packages to sell on my website. I usually sell them at the normal retail price of $22.50 but since I have WAY too many, I figured I'd discount them like crazy and see how many I can clear out of inventory in a week. Anyway, I just have 7 left in stock and I don't get another shipment for awhile now. If ya'll want to grab one, for yourself or a friend, they're $9.99 each. First come, first serve. :)

Here's the link to the product page: http://www.pilotresourcesandmore.com/store/p36/Microsoft_Flight_Simulator_X%3A_Steam_Edition_(Boxed_Steam_Code).html"]http://www.pilotresourcesandmore.com/store/p36/Microsoft_Flight_Simulator_X%3A_Steam_Edition_(Boxed_Steam_Code).html

The problem is your 1 GB video card. It meets the minimum specs, but to get the best results we recommend a video card with 4 GB of VRAM.

How are you adjusting the rendering options? Make sure you are running the latest version of X-Plane, then try using the rendering preset buttons in the Rendering Options screen. Start with minimum or low and see if it's acceptable.

Alternatively, you can try the free demo for X-Plane 9 on that machine - grab it by clicking on the “Older Versions” link on the top of the “Downloads” page at ‘x-plane.com’.  Because X-Plane 9 is an older piece of software it is much less demanding on the computer and may work much more acceptably for you.
