My computer crashes while trying to download and install XP11.

It's like I have pressed the reset button, although I haven't, or done a restart from the menu.

It appears to continue from where the crash occurred when I go back into the downloader but when I try and fly from an airport in the area it tells me there will be just sea as there are missing files.

In the ares where it has been successful the sim seems to fly correctly and is stable but I cant be certain there aren't things missing because I've never flown XP11 before now.

It's not an overheat problem, computer is clean, dust free and all fans working properly. The temperature and fans are monitored and controlled by software.

Anybody got any ideas? I've attached the log.txt

Hi,

Your X-plane 11 log.txt does not help me much here. Can you also include your X-plane installer log.txt, please? (should be on the desktop).

I have several ideas, or several things to check :

1. Make sure you have the latest X-plane installer. It can be downloaded here :
http://www.x-plane.com/kb/digital-download-install/

2. Just trying again later might be the solution.

3. Make sure you have enough disc space. About 60Gb required for the whole world, or about 10Gb per additional area.

4. Make sure your firewall does not block the installer

5. If you want, you can try to install the latest X-plane beta (11.05r1) which seems to be very stable. This can be done by ticking the appropriate box when going through the installation process. I doubt this would solve the issue, though...

6. Install a second copy somewhere else, and see if the installation goes well this time

Thanks so much for your consideration of my problem

1. Got the latest installer from the website

2. Tried so many times, so many.........

3. Tons of space, only used 400gb of a 1tb disc

4. Even went as far as switching all anti virus/firewall etc off

5. Didn;t try that

6. Tried installing to a different disc, same problem.

I've given up and asked for a refund on the grounds I can't get it to install and bought a Steam version which went in first time without problems.

Thanks again
