My B738 is uncontrollably climbing and descending whenever the 'ALT HOLD' comes on the Autopilot. This has been happening for several flights now, and it has not stopped, I am able to take off ok, but whenever I hit my cruising altitude and try to level off, the plane starts climbing and descending rapidly all the way up to V.S. 9999+ and -9999. This issue has really started to annoy me and I really want this fixed.

Hi again, your target speed is above max operating ias. Does it work better if you fly at 320 kts for instance?

Does the LVL CHG mode work better?

PS : you should stick to one thread per problem, so that other users can see the whole process to find a solution.

Confirm you have the latest X-plane 11.05r1 update?

Confirm deleting output/preferences folder did not improve anything?

Can you attach your log.txt?

It's better to include the whole log.txt file.

I could definitely not reproduce your bug :

Windows 8.1 64 bits I5 4690 3.5GHz/8Gb RAM/dedicated SSD 480Gb/MSI GTX970 4Gb xp11.05r1

Can you try and desengage your A/T, Autopilot and FD, and then activate them again in the following order?

FD on

A/T on

LVL CHG on

Autopilot engaged
