We've seen a lot of complaints about the grainy-ness of night vision in the latest update. My understanding is night vision in 10.52 was noiseless and so the full resolution image is too good. In 11.05 there is a lot of noise, typical of older 1st and 2nd generation equipment. More modern stuff (being more sensitive to IR, thermal imaging) does have less noise in many conditions, but it really depends on how dark it really is. But the fundamental noise type and finite resolution is the best approximation of real night vision artifacts on a real dark, overcast night.
