Cannot activate x-Plane

Question

I purchased a second copy of x-Plane 10 digital download in order to run it on a second networked computer. I received the new serial number in email. Installed x-Plane with that, and it starts ok, but the activation pop-up doesn't go away. When I type or paste the serial number and click Next, the only thing that happens is that the text gets highlighted in light blue. I have Windows 10 on this computer and Internet connection of course.

When you say it "starts ok", does it load any scenery or or does it just come up with the gray activation box on the blue screen? Do you have to force quit the sim? Can you start in demo mode at least? Please upload a copy of your log.txt found in the main X-Plane folder.
