As a PPL I have been using X-Plane since its inception. Having skipped 2 versions, I recenlty installed X-Plane 11.2 and using a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) with 16Gb Ram and a AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB video card and can barely get 15fps in X-Plane 11 (see below).

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Andre

It looks that both CPU and GPU are overloaded. Try to install this plugin. It will control few things and perhaps allow you to have smoother gameplay without loosing much of the quality.

Thanks for that and I will try it out. Meanwhile I have reinstalled X-Plane 11.10 and it seems to be better however still getting poor graphics with higher frame rates. Perhaps I need to upgrade my Mac yet again :)

Sometimes updates can make X-Plane low framerate perfromance. I had that problem and followed this guide to restore performance. Saying that it doesn't always work as there might be a different problem that is causing framerate drop, but worth trying. Remember to backup folder if you try it. Good luck! :)
