I'm mostly flying VFR general aviation in Belgium (West-Flanders, Ypres). Something that really bothers me is the limited draw distance of lights at night. I use ortho4xp and flight in VR (native).
Whole blocks of lights pop up out of nowhere, while airport lights are visible from miles away. So the normal street lights cut off suddenly to pitch black (like a highway to nowhere). Is there something I can do to improve the draw distance of lights, or maybe just make the lights fade, so the cut-off is not that abrupt?

You don't say what version you are using, but 11.20 includes improvements to distant night lighting textures. Details in the article here: https://developer.x-plane.com/2018/03/now-serving-11-20b1/. You will not see this improvement with orthophotos however.
