At the axis page I have only 3 places to set up controls.  At the axis page I have only 3 places to set up controls not 10.

What device are you using? While it may not set the drop down option, X-Plane should detect all axes, then you can manually set each axis type from the drop down.

Perhaps provide a screenshot or additional, specific steps about what you have tried and what you want to accomplish.

If you have a complex stickl/throttle/rudder set you should connect it through a powered USB hub (for all sims).

I have a Saitex X-55 plus rudder - that is 3 seperate USB connections - perhaps you have similar. X-Plane instantly found all 11 axes no problem (4 rotaries, 2 throttles, 2 for stick and 3 for rudder/toe brakes).
