Hi this is more of a question about World Editor. Is it possible to model something in Google Sketchup and then export it as an .obj file and then have it imported into World Editor as a custom .obj object?

Yes, World Editor can use custom object files. You can use the library system to replace virtually any part of the artwork for the global scenery. Here is a section of the World Editor manual that discusses how the library system works so you can use it for your custom object.

Custom objects are not accepted in Airport Scenery Gateway submissions, however.
