Is there any reason why the frame rate drops dramatically when using the Cockpit view (Shift + 9) compared to any external views? Or what changes could benefit to get a better frame rate? I've been playing around with a lot of combinations of settings and it simple doesn't seem to improve in that view

Most settings are set to High, except the number of world objects is set to medium. I've been flying either the 737 or 747.

Cockpit view (Shift + 9): 18-20 fps
External view 1 (Shift + 2): 29-30 fps
External view 2 (Shift + 4): 30-31 fps

Motherboard: M5A99FX PRO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-8350 4Ghz
RAM: 16 GB DDR 1333
Video: GTX 970 4GB SSC

Thanks

This is normal.  We're not done with performance tuning and hopefully it will continue to improve.   Clouds are especially a frame rate issue and that is being worked on as we speak
