I am sitting on the runway and pull up the gps and the airplane is not on the airstrip it is to the left of it.  This is an issue especially when trying to fly an approach and the gps thinks the runway is in one locations and the program thinks it is in another.  Please let me know what I need to do to correct this.  Using 11.05r1  default Cessna Skyhawk.

Hi there

I have this problem too and it is quite annoying, Also when sometimes you select to spawn on a runway and it spawns you either to the left or right of the runway parallel to it on the grass. Not sure if this is supposed to happen or not but also is sometimes pretty annoying.

Cheers

Many of the default airports in X-Plane have not been updated in quite a few years. So as runways have been renamed due to magnetic variation changes, or even construction on airports, the data in X-Plane has remained out of date. If you see a mismatch like this, you can file a missing runway report on the Gateway and someday an artist may fix it. For faster results, I'd recommend trying your hand at WED yourself to correct the airport.
