X-Plane 11 retail on USB Flash Drive

Question

Why won't X-Plane 11 be sold on 128GB USB flash drive direct from Laminar Research as another option than DVD's or digital download even though it would be faster to install all 80GB of scenery regions from USB flash drive than from DVD's or digital download?  USB flash drives are faster than optical drives.  Digital downloads are slower than physical media due to bandwidth limitations of the ISP.

Honestly this is not a retail option we had ever considered. It's not super common for companies to do this AFAIK, but now I have suggested it to the product manager.

The problem is that flash drives might fail first than a DVD. But would be nice, my pc doesn't have dvd drive installed on it... and I wasn't needing it for about 6 years.....
