iMac CPU type unrecognized

Question

I have a new 21" iMac Retina with an i7 processor. Trying to install X-Plane, the log file reports

"CPU type: 1479463068 (unknown PowerPC) CPU speed (mhz): 3300 Bus speed (mhz): 100 RAM (MB): 16384"

I have a MacBook with an i7 processor and X-Plane runs fine on it.

Please file a bug report here. Include the full X-Plane installer log.txt file as well as the result: does the installer crash? How far do you get through the installer before having problems? etc.
