How much RAM is useless with X-Plane?

Question

If a computer has 64 or 128 GB of RAM, will X-Plane use as much as it is possible or is there a maximum amount of RAM beyond which X-Plane will never go, considering flying around very heavy sceneries and planes that eat a lot of FPS?

128 GB is quite overkill. I don't think that Xplane can manage to eat up more than about 50 GB.
