Hi Fillipebmorais,
I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer who does not support steam software.
The official version of X-Plane 11 has been created and developed by Laminar Research (LR). The steam version is a 3rd party hybrid sucking off and taking a commercial advantage of the work by Laminar. There is no connection either by agreement or commercially, between either party. Any steam updates are always days behind the official LR update releases. Steam does not make beta versions available unlike LR
By the way, you cannot "mix" the LR version with the steam hybrid and vice-versa.
When the LR version of x-plane was released one of the promoted benefits of the new software was its capability of using VR components. So yes the LR version of X-Plane does have the VR capability.
At the time of release many headsets required a 3rd party addon product called Steam VR to run. A few versions later LR developed the official version of X-Plane to the point where the Steam VR addon software was no longer required. Although I am not a VR user comments in this forum indicate what brands no longer use the steam software. I am of the opinion the Occulus Rift is one such product. Other units still need the software.
If you are not already using a VR headset with your copy of steam you need to consider if your graphics card is VR ready as well as the CPU. You will need good frame rates with your system before you connect a VR unit.
