Recommendations for a new student pilot

Question

I am a new student pilot.  Its been recommended that I get a flight simulator to aid my training.  I have a MacBook Pro with 2.7 GHz, 16 GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB processor.  Will X-Plane operate well on that system?   Is the iPad version a good substitute to aid with my training?

If you can run X-Plane 10 Demo on your computer, then there shouldn't be any problem with full version of X-Plane 10. You can download the free X-Plane 10 Demo here and try.

nice, I'm learning to fly also, I currently have 11 hours how about you?

just do the demo as they said but do xplane 11 instead its a lot better and i would recommend getting a yoke or stick and rudder pedals and stay away from the app unless you want to learn basics like aerodynamics, flight controls, or if you want to do a course on VOR nav. I have a nice setup for my simulator if you want me to i can share it with you so you can get some ideas! good luck, Lawson Laslo
