Upgraded IMAC OS X version 10.8.5 to 10.12.  X Plane now unable to barely run....for example you cannot change cockpit view to 3d....error message comes up saying X Plane encountered problem and closed.  Here is the problem....tried to click on X Plane installer to reinstall...installer will not come up.  In other words cannot due anything....add/delete scenery....update....etc.   Can you please help.  X-plane was running fine before I updated OSX 10.8 to OSX 10.12.   My system is IMAC 2.9 GHZ Intel Core i5

Memory 32 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512MB

Would appreciate any help

Hi Terry,

Well there could be a couple different things going on. OS 10.12 is pretty new and has not been tested extensively, so it may have changes that negatively affect X-Plane. Typically we do not recommend upgrading to the latest OS very quickly.

The second thing is that you made a huge jump in terms of updating. 10.8 is four operating system versions ago. Each OS update tends to get more powerful and include more default features. It's possible your computer is overwhelmed by the new OS and all its features. (I will not update my iPad 2, for example, to iOS 9 or even 10 because I have read that it makes the iPad 2 too slow to use because of how much system resources the OS needs.)

Please also make sure you are running the latest version of X-Plane.
