How do I update, fix, or reinstall Xplane 10 when you get an error, X Plane 10 installer has stopped working?

I have tried the one in my xplane 10 folder and I have downloaded the installer and have still been unable to use it. My current version of xplane has many errors and keeps crashing. I would like to refresh it but I cannot get the installer to work.

Wow! That actually worked and I was able to use the installer for xplane 10 and 11 again. Thanx!
