are all joystics compatible with x plane 11

I want to purchase myself a joysick and Im asking if all jostics are compatible with x plane 11

I am not an employee of Laminar, but I'm pretty sure that any joystick would work.  Personally I use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and love it.

will this joystick work on iMac? Can you plse recommend any other Mac compatible joystick?
