How can I solve this issue with 'trailing' lights?

Any help much appreciated! My video card is GeForce GTX 1080. I'm a first time user of X-plane and I could not resolve this using the graphics settings.

I think those "lights" may be routes of planes displayed. Maybe you clicked something on accident. Try pressing and of the F1-F12 keys on your keyboard, other then that i dont know.

Hi, as Wet Fish says, it's the path of other planes. The keyboard command is Ctrl+P. It's a cycle of 6 different displays :

path
path+altitude
ILS
ILS+path
ILS+path+altitude
nothing
