I like to buy X Plane 11, I saw X Plane 11 Global (boxed), is that the newest version to buy now?

Yes, I would personnaly recommend the digital download if you have a good internet connection.
The licence includes all the coming x-plane 11.xx updates, currently 11.05r2.

Buy it on steam, it's the best way. All the versions are the same.

Hi, Sander Sga,

Don't waste your money on Steam.  Buy the official version from Laminar Research or their authorised/official agent being Aerosoft and support the official developers.  You will get updates far quicker than from steam.  Updates will occur when you bootup to run X-Plane.  Even faster if you "tick" the box for a beta version update.

There is no link or connection of any type with Steam by Laminar Research.  Generally Laminar Research will not and does not support the Steam version.

Steam is a third party organisation taking a commercial advantage of the development work carried out by Laminar Research.  By the way, the steam mob created a disc version of X-Plane long before Laminar Research released the official disc version for general use.  Before then the digital download was the official released software by Laminar Research.

Steam version is officially supported by laminar, beta updates are there, updates are automatic and the most sales are done through steam. Laminar chose steam because it's popular and boosts the sale numbers.

Steam didn't create a disc version, they don't have the rights for that, only laminar can do this.
