I literally spent hours setting up my CH yoke and pedal control settings and everything was fine for a few weeks. Then one day I log in to X-Plane 11 and all of my settings have reverted back to default, and I am back to square one. I thought I was smart by saving them to "Save As Default For Control Manager,"  but I can't figure out how to retrieve them.  Now, I'm new to X-Plane, so there may be a simple answer to all of this that I am overlooking.  If so, I would certainly appreciate any answers that would help me avoid doing my settings all over again and having the same thing happen again.

Hi, there is no built in option to do that, unfortunately. You can look at this topic though, and manually save the 3 files mentionned in the answer :

But for now, to get back your control, there is no solution. You will need to go through the whole process again.

But where could you find the button "Save As Default For Control Manager" ? I can only see "Reset to Defaults .."

Thanks for your quick reply.  I guess I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that it doesn't happen again.  Back to the drawing-board.

Under "Settings" there are two options one on top of the other: "Reset to Default ..."   and under it: "Save as Default ..."  They are located right above "Control Sensitivity" and "PFC Hardware."  If you see one, I can't figure-out why you don't see the other.  I'm assuming you are also on X-Plane 11.  When you save the control settings, they go to where all the other files for X-Plane are located, I just can't figure-out how to import them.  From what you had said, right now it is not possible.  OK, so then, why do they give you the option to save them???  It's a mystery.

Anyway, thanks again for answering my question and helping me save my energy in a fruitless search ...

Very strange. Here is what I see in X-plane 11.05r2 :

I have the same version of X-Plane that you do, and as you can see it's different.  I tried, with no success, to post a screen-shot, but with my limited knowledge couldn't get it to take.  I think that this link will work, and then you can see what I'm talking about.

Your link doesn't work for me. I found out many users struggle to attach pictures :

It looks like you have discovered a bug with the "Save As Default For Control Manager" button, which A) does not work, B) is not always displayed.

Could you follow these steps :

-Backup your 3 setting files, on the desktop for example
X-Plane Calibration.prf
X-Plane Joystick Settings.prf
X-Plane Keys.prf

-Delete the X-plane 11\Output\Preferences

-Run X-plane and close it

-Restore your 3 files

-Run X-plane again

Do you still have the "Save As Default For Control Manager" button displayed?
Do you have your joystick and keyboard settings restored?

Well, you really put me through my paces.  I figured out how to do all of the steps that you outlined, and the results are (drum roll):

(1.)  The "Save As Default For Control Manager" button is still there.

(2.)  All of my settings that I put in there today are restored.

I don't know if this is a help or not, but I'm going to bed ... I think that I have a headache ...
