Why is there no option for typing in a frequency on the radios?

How has the option to quickly type in a setting into radios or even altimeters never been added?  Do the makers of X Plane really think we like zooming in and fiddling with virtual knobs???  I don't even like it when I fly in real life.  certainly would like some simplification in the sim.  I got it to work on skills flying, not fiddling with knobs for half the time I'm using the program.

Search for the “XSmartCom” add-on for X-Plane.

While people may argue that using the keyboard to enter radio frequencies is not “realistic”.  But neither is using mouse clicks.  Especially while in the “heat of the battle” during on-line flying, I much prefer using the numeric keys.
