I have found only one so far at http://www.c74.net/xplane/ and although it is close to the real thing it does not resemble the actual avionics in a real Cirrus SR22 G2 Avidyne. Part of good IFR training is consistency and it is hard to accomplish this when the replica isn't the same ad the real thing.

Hi Kenka,

If you don't find what you want online, you could try your hand at making your own in Plane Maker. It comes bundled with X-Plane for free. We have a manual and some documents on the X-Plane Developer site, and the X-Plane.org forum has additional resources and places to ask specific questions. Otherwise you could consider commissioning a custom aircraft, but that takes a lot of time and money.

HI jroberts,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look into this option but I have a feeling it's deeper than I would like to get with a whole new learning process and time involved etc. I'd rather consider paying to have one created but not necessarily to the extent of commissioning a custom aircraft. Somewhere reasonable in terms of cost.

The one from c72 works except for the avionics....that said do you think I could take the one from c72 and simply edit the avionics to suit my needs instead of starting from scratch? If so maybe that might work....

Thanks, ken

I took a look and was able to open and edit the one from c72 but I don't think I want to get into all the learning required right now. Good to know that it can be done though. Would rather spend the time training rather than building so will continue using FSX until someone can help me find or create one.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I am in the same boat. I think I will contact the company that does the custom aircraft and see if I can purchase an existing plane. I don't really care about the exterior.

Harry, if you don't mind let me know what they tell you. I might be interested in being part of the program.

This was their response to me:

Your best bet here, Harry, would be to Google “SR22 for X-Plane” and see if you like any of the 4 or 9 or 15 options that come up.

Thanks

I have tried all of your recommendations for search but can't find anything for Cirrus SR22 except for the C72 version that is not a good enough replica of the avionics if you are trying to use for training vs enjoyment. There is another one that is not known to work on X-Plane 10. Carenado is coming out with one soon for X-Plane 10. There is one for SR20 that I haven't tried but want to replicate the performance of the SR22.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I did not see anything on the Carenado website about the new SR-22. Where did you see that? Definitely want to take a look at that.

Looks like Carenado released it today but requires 64 bit fyi....http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php?accion=product&correl=167

Great. Thanks for that information.

Just an FYI that Carenado's lates SR22 for XPlane does not include the ability to practice instrument approaches, they are not loadable in the avionics....I asked them if they will be adding the ability and so far no reply.

Thanks for that info. Important given that this is probably all the actual SR22 pilots would use it for.
