Bypass 172 Intro after fresh install of XPlane11

Question

After fresh installation of XPlane 11 on OS X

XPlane 11 starts without problems but crashes during the 172 intro after trying to skip it in order to get to the main menu where I can adjust graphic settings to suit my low end machine.

I have tried to start XPlane11 with all kinds of command line options as described under --help without success.

Any help ?

Is the sim crashing while trying to run the intro? Once you have skipped it or "suffered through it" the first time, it should go directly to the main menu at launch. If the skip button causes the crash, can you complete the tutorial then quit? As long as you have preference files I think it should not start in the intro.

So I copied my preference files from a old XPlane installation into the preference folder and woop I'm directly in the main menu.
