Hi!

I had X-Plane 10 running on Sierra perfectly fine. My purchased aircraft (from multiple sources) and all scenery packages were fine.

I upgraded to High Sierra and now some aircraft and the scenery are almost unusable!

1) Severe performance degradation. Lagging, frequent pauses and autopilot not working.

2) A box/frame is appearing around the cursor when moving around the cockpit.

I have attached some photos of what is happening. When using the built in screenshot method on OS X the boxes/frames are NOT appearing on the screen shot so I had to use my phone to take a photo.

This leads me to believe that it's a graphics card issue or perhaps X-Plane 10 isn't playing nice with High Sierra?

Mac specs:

Late 2012 27" iMac

3.2GHz i5/16GB RAM/OS X High Sierra 10.13.3 (17D102)

Nvidia GeForce GTX 675MX 1GB

Hi Excelerate,

I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer using a non Mac system.

I am of the opinion that if your graphics card was working before and you have the latest driver update it should not be the problem.

In going back through some older forum Q&As in this forum you will find others who have had problems with High Sierra as well.  Just after the first beta X-Plane version 11 was released for general flight simmer testing, Mac released the High Sierra version.  This created a significant number of problems for X-Plane users.  I understand that the problem was caused/created by Apple who had to find a fix.  I also understand that Laminar made an offer to assist in the tweeking as well.  Is it fixed? I don't know.  I haven't seen any further XP11/ High Sierra problems in this forum.

My suggestion to you is that XP10 is or may be suffering from the same problem.  Haven't seen any earlier problems with XP10 users.  You should contact Apple for their comment and a possible solution making mention of the problem created with XP11.

Good luck

Thanks but no joy.

Turns out there is an issue with Nvidia cards and X-Plane.

Apple don't seem to have a solution.

It has been a known fact that NVidia cards have given a better performance than AMD cards, especially with XP10.

I have never had a problem with Nvidia and XP10.
