Hi Richard, X-Plane 10 requires, at the minimum,

  • Dual Core, 2.5 GHz or faster
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • A video card with at least 1 GB of VRAM.
  • For the best experience, they  recommend the following system specs:

  • a Quad Core, 3.0 GHz or faster processor,
  • 16-20 GB of RAM,
  • a high-performance, DirectX 11-capable video card with at least 4 GB of on-board, dedicated VRAM.
  • -Plane depends most heavily on single thread CPU performance, but it will also take advantage of multiple cores or distinct processors – 4 are recommended. 16 GB of RAM is usually adequate, but 20 GB may be needed for the most complex custom scenery packages. Likewise, highly detailed custom scenery can use as much as 4 GB of VRAM at the maximum settings.
  • It looks like your system will struggle quite a bit if you can run it,but you will not get to see its full potential.
  • I hope this helps.

Hi Richard,

Your system unfortunately will not be able to cope with XP. Either look to upgrade your pc or get XP-9 or wait

Not true. I ran the game 40FPS at low settings on a mid 2013 MacBook Air with an i5 processor @ 1.3 GHz. Yes, you read that right. 1.3. Anyway, I did have 8GB of RAM and the minimum of Intel HD 5000 1GB.

Oh you had 8 gb of RAM. Good thing you have 8 because if you had 4, VAS is a big issue but you are going to be running the sim with low settings so It would not have been a major issue. Then you're fine with a 1.3 ghz processor at low settings. In my previous comment I thought you wanted to run it with medium to high rendering options. Then that was my fault. But don't you want eye candy though?

Yeah it looked pretty bad but I only tried the demo. I'm definitely going to change computers for the full version :)

That's good that you are going to upgrade your computer
