I just setup X-Plane 11 fresh download from Steam.  I have a couple issues I have experienced in VR (Oculus Rift).  (1)  Cockpit View in the Cessna 172 places me sitting too high, as if I am on a six inch cushion.  The only workaround I have found is to raise my office chair to it's highest position, got to cockpit view, and then lower it to it's lowest position whenever I need to reset the view to cockpit view; and (2) When turning on or off the avionics in the C172 there is a distinct visual glitch in the image, though it quickly resolves itself.

Where can I go to find a list of Bugs reported in the VR to determine if these have already been reported, and if so if they are resolved in a beta release?

The cockpit view is easily solved by using the reset pilot's view option. This is a menu option on the controller or you can assign it to a joystick or keyboard button in settings (it's called "reset VR view". More info on getting started with VR basics is available here. The view issue may be due to low fps or a pause due to loading.

Fixed bugs are listed in release notes. If you are using the latest version of the sim and see a bug, you can file a bug report here. We will usually let you know if it is a known issue.

Where is the "reset VR view" in the rift controller navigation.  There is the "Get in Pilots Seat" button referenced in the documentation you refer to, but not a "reset VR view".

I have seen others complain online about the seat height issue, and since I'm running a i7 8800K with a NVidia 1080 gpu on 16G System and 8G Video Ram, I can't see it being a system performance issue.

These are the same function. I'm not sure why the command is called something different than the VR controller option, but they will do the same thing.

If these are the same then this is not the correct answer.  When I press the button it does put me behind the stick but at a location where my posterior would be levitating about six inches above the seat of the chair.  I have to fumble blindly (with the VR headset on) to find my keyboard and press the down arrow button about three or four times to get positioned in the correct location.

This incorrect positioning of the default pilot view seems to be a frequent complaint on the blogs.  I just made the changes to get beta's down last night and it apparently is still not corrected.

The view can also be affected by the play area set up. I had more issues with my height positioning when I had set up my Oculus play area while seated, but entered my standing height. I had to redo the VR equipment set up to fix this. You could double check this as well.

There are a lot of ways to work around the view not positioning properly by default (such as keys or joystick bindings as you've found). You could also try modifying the view in the VR config files but the installer will want to overwrite it at any update. We are aware this is not a great solution but don't have a fix at this time.
