Is the dataref "sim/cockpit2/gauges/indicators/wind_speed_kts" really in knots instead of meters/second

I just came across an issue with the dataref "sim/cockpit2/gauges/indicators/wind_speed_kts":

I think, this is really giving the wind speed in meters/second instead of knots. There is always a factor of 1.94... between the expected and the actual values.

Is this an approved error? Or is there some setting to change a conversion factor?

It's definitely intended to be in knots. If you have a reproduction case where it's off, please file a bug.
