Install on external volume fails

Question

Trying to install the Demo on a 15" MacBook Pro Retina.  Set an external volume that's on a Lightning connection.  Demo install immediately fails.  Log file attached.

Hi kenstjohn,

I tried this with a USB flash drive and I was able to start the demo install. It's super slow, but progressing. I don't know if the issue may be with the lightning connection. Can you try it again and explain in more detail (step by step) how you are trying to install X-Plane? Does the installer work if you choose a different location, and it's only the external drive that has issues? How is it "failing" exactly (crash, hang, etc)?

When I tried installing to the external drive, it simply disappeared after it began downloading files.

The installer did, however, work OK downloading to the desktop.  Interestingly, I copied that downloaded folder (X-Plane 10 Demo) to my external drive and it starts and works perfectly!
