How many start with engine running are possible

Question

I have a lot of trouble with a cold and dark start and I found it easier to do a start with engine running it takes the frustration out of using XPlane. I saw a warning that you should not continually use the engine running start method because if you do the system will crash permanently. Is there away of loading the programme and then using quick engine start. With flight factor the quick engine keyboard key does not work and with other most aircraft with out problems. Is there a way around this problem.

I have a DVD version and haven't had any problems with starting with the engine running. It is, I believe, the default setting. No problem after dozens of starts as I'm trying to modify an add-on plane that has glitches in the Plane Maker settings.
