I have a second mall monitor (Dell) and it recognizes the desktop. I would like to configure it so that I can drag the screen inserts such as the map  or the enlarged instruments  over from the principal screen to screen 2.  Using the video card settings controls I have configured for monitor 1 and monitor 2. Monitor one is a larger screen (LG TV) - the principal screen. monitor 2- situated on the left is a smaller Dell monitor screen that I would like to be able to drag the insert map  from the principal screen to the small screen. I can drag it about 60% out of view on principal screen but it does not appear on screen 2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Buka,

I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer.

Have a look at the following link found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBHRw5yl7Vk  Follow the principles of the article in creating the pop-outs for the second screen.  I think this is what you are wanting to do.

Also read the manual which can be found at https://x-plane.com/manuals/desktop/

Good luck

Thank you. I read the manual earlier and have now watched the video with great interest. It appears that what I am trying to do with the pop outs is doeable, but i am confused as to how to do it. Additional detailed instructions would be much appreciated.

Burka,

Have you noticed if X-Plane recognize your 2nd monitor?  I had experienced this issue previously where I could not see and configure my 3rd monitor and my problem was that I did not realized there is a slider (depending your screen resolution) at the bottom of the screen to go to the next monitor settings!!!.  So make sure your 2nd monitor is seen in X-Plane and activated...  Look at the pictures provided for more info...

Hoping this will help a bit...

Burka,

Unfortunately I am not at my flight sim PC so my current advice is from memory so I cant provide a direct prescription on what and how to do it.  All I can remember is right click on what you want to pop out and this will create a new image.  Then right click on the white bar at the top of the new image and drag to your 2nd screen.

Have a look at the following link for Russ Barlow found at  https://www.youtube.com/user/srbarlow/videos   You will have to review his videos as he demonstrates the methodology of "popping out" screens for use on several other screens/monitors several times in a few of his videos His videos also provide other good info as well.

Also have a look at the videos from Michael Brown found at  https://www.youtube.com/user/col2mab/videos      He also demonstrates the methodology as well.

Hi Burka

Here is an additional link that may make the pop-out issue clearer. It can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kz0E3juG5Y

Hope this now helps
