Why is "Loading VR..." hanging up half way?

Every time I try to enable VR hardware it goes to the "Loading VR..." screen and just sits there half way.

-I have rebooted my machine numerous times.

-My monitor and Rift are both plugged into the same card (1080).

-Order of operations: 1. Reboot comp, 2. Load Oculus software, 3. Load XP11, 4. Enable VR hardware

Did you try putting the VR set on? I had the same issue, it didn't continue until I put on my Rift.

Yeah, I have the headset on. It shows the X-Plane logo and just says "Loading." I've tried so many little changes and order of operations mix arounds that I'm completely out of ideas.
