can FSX SE and X-plane 11 at on one PC work independently?

I am still using FSX SE with add-ons such as Active weather, PRO ATC, UT2 , GSX but I am  intending to buy your product X-plane 11. I would like to try demo version as the first but need do know if there is no fight between these two simulators on one PC ( of course, I am not going to use them at same time).  Can I have  both  on one computer independently?

Hi Dezi,

I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer.

The first issue you need to resolve is:-  Is the computer you plan to run X-Plane on a "64 bit" or "32 bit" machine?  If it is not "64 bit" then X-Plane 11 will not work.  

FSX software/technology is based around "32 bit" and your add-on software will not work with X-Plane.  From memory FSX installs software "all over the place" on your PC in a number of directories whereas X-Plane is installed as a complete isolated package in its own directory either on the desktop or can be installed on a dedicated drive.

There is no difference between the demo version and the full version of X-Plane when initially downloaded other than a restriction on only being able to run X-Plane at a specific airport and a time limit once you have configured your demo flight.  If you chose to purchase X-Plane then apply the activation key when requested and the full version will automatically open.

As a sideline issue, purchase the software (X-Plane) via download direct from and support the developers being Laminar Research. If you plan to purchase from another supplier or product name  then you are supporting a 3rd party hybrid which is slow to provide updates and has a different installation process taking a commercial advantage of the development work carried out by Laminar Research.
