I have re-installed X-Plane 3 or 4 times and each time it will work the first time, but after that X-Plane doesn't recognize any controls at all.

I also tried unplugging and plugging in the controls and still to no avail.

I currently use the Logitech Pro Flight Yoke/Quadrant, and the Logitech Pro Flight Rudder Pedals.

I've uploaded my log to Pastebin over here.

I hope we can figure this out!

Thanks,

The Notorious

Hi Ken,

How did you install the units?

If you used the logitech software provided with the product you need to "totally" uninstall the software and then install and calibrate the units through X-Plane.  No other way.  Not even through your operating system.

Good luck

I plugged them in and installed the software it came with for no problem since about August (that’s when I got X-Plane). Completely uninstalled the software and restarted- and controls were recognized. Flew a bit and then shut down. Went back later today and controls not recognized.

But, did you physically calibrate/install the units other than.... "Completely uninstalled the software and restarted- and controls were recognized."

My interpretation of your comment is that the units have not been installed and calibrated as yet within X-Plane.

X-Plane flat out won't recognize them at all: X-Plane says "No flight controls have been found" and it tells me to plug them in, despite them already being plugged in. Windows recognizes them. I didn't really install them so much as plug them into my PC and go from there.

Ken,

Windows will always see the items but you "have to" install the items within the x-plane software not just plug them in.

Have a look at the following links at https://www.x-plane.com/kb/joystick-troubleshooting-x-plane-11/  and at https://www.x-plane.com/kb/my-joystick-or-yoke-isnt-working/

Hello, I have a similar issue with flight controller not working in X-Plane 11. I use a Interlink Elite, which looks like a RC Flight controller, but also works as a Standard Game controller.

I use it in FSX all the time and I was using it in X-Plane 11 up until a couple of weeks ago. Now the message comes up The controller is connected and windows and 3 other flight simulators see it and work with it just fine and X-plane USED to see it.

What would cause X-Plane to no longer work with this controller? There are no drivers to download as they are just standard Windows Drivers for this device and do not require anything special. I use the Steam Edition of X-Plane 11

I have the same exact problem as csgill75. I even tried my Xbox One controller and it didn't work either- so no controllers whatsoever are working on x-plane. All are being recognized by the OS but not showing up at all on X-Plane. These work just fine on other sims such as P3D and FSX.

Hi folks,

Dump the concept of using software or windows to calibrate your controller to use in X-Plane.  You need to go into x-plane and do the installation within X-Plane.  Go back and have a look at the above referenced videos produced by Laminar Research. Just because the unit may work in other flight sim packages doesn't guarantee it will work in X-Plane if you don't follow the "rules"

From others raising connection issues in much earlier forum questions and if your unit has a USB connection then you should be able to connect to x-plane without using any 3rd party software, including windows.

there has been an earlier comments in this forum regarding XBox controllers.  Backtrack to find the answer.  I cannot remember the answer.

The above mentioned videos have no bearing on the issue. They assume that X-Plane is seeing the connected USB Controller. X-plane 11 does not see any USB controller on my system. I should note that X-Plane 9 and X-Plane 10 both are also installed, work well with my desired controller, and X-Plane 11 did work up until a couple of weeks ago with the same exact controller.

So the problem I have is I cannot setup the controller in X-Plane again because it used to be, its because It is as if the controller is not even connected, Even though it is. I do not have the screen in the videos that I used to have that allowed me to configure the controller, I just have the screen that says No Flight controls found. There is no checking the  joystick ail/elv/rud because it doesn't seem to exist in X-plane 11 (it is in X-Plane 10).

This is very frustrating that this controller that used to work just fine and I have logged over 30 hours with the controller, doesn't work anymore for this application.

Hi csgill75,

I would suggest you lodge a "bug report" at the following link http://dev.x-plane.com/support/bugreport.html

Good luck

Flew over 950 hours using a CH Eclipse Yoke in X-Plane 11.  This weekend, the yoke is no longer recognized by X-Plane.  It's another USB connected device.  Tried my X-Box controller and a Steam Controller.  X-Plane recognizes none of them.  All of these controllers work perfectly in other software.  None of the above links about calibrating and installing within X-Plane actually do anything, because X-Plane not even seeing a controller doesn't recognize any axes to set up.

What in the heck caused something which worked within X-Plane for 950+ hours to magically stop working and only stop working n X-Plane?
