Hello, thinking about buying X-Plane 11 for Christmas. Can my computer (i7 6700k 3,4ghz, GTX 1060 6gb, 32gb ram) run X-Plane 11?

Hi murderbybox,

I am not from Laminar Research; just a flight simmer.

Check out the system requirements found at the following link at https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-11-system-requirements/  I am of the opinion your system will work.

What is not mentioned is good cooling is required as the GPU and the CPU generates heat that needs to be dispersed.

Download the X-plane demo version found here at https://www.x-plane.com/desktop/try-it/  The demo download is the full version but you are restricted to a set location and a time period.  If and when you do purchase the Laminar Research version you will be provided a password key to be applied where and when requested and X-Plane will then open to the full version.

As a sideline issue the steam version is not the official X-Plane (Laminar Research) version but a 3rd party hybrid.

Welcome to the world of X-Plane.
