How do I unlock HASP/Professional Windows 10?

Question

I am unable to get to the professional version of X-plane after reinstalling X-plane and utilizing HASP key.

 

Please advise how to unlock and use same.

Hi Larry,

I just want to double check that you downloaded, unzipped, and installed the HASP USB drivers. You can find a link to download them at the bottom of this page on our site. X-Plane will not recognize you are using a USB key until you have done so.

I have downloaded the drivers do they have to be in a specific folder?

Still boots up as Home edition:

Do I need to repurchase X-Plane Global?

They do not have to be in a specific folder that I'm aware of. Once you unzipped the file, open it up and there is a program to run that will install the drivers, and then they should just work when use X-Plane and have the USB key inserted.

Thanks for the response.  The HASP key is illuminated however when I open X-Plane 10 it still says for "Home Use " Only is this normal?  Should it say something else such as Professional use authorized?

Yes, it should say it is the pro-use version & have a message about frame rate and controls test at the end of start up. I am using 10.45 and it displays that message for me when I insert the Pro key.

What port does it say your HASP is using?

Did you have to specify port to allow HASPaccess?

I did not have to specify a port. I just installed the drivers and then plugged in the USB key. Please provide a copy of your log.txt and specific details of how you set everything up, such as in what order your insert the USB key, start X-Plane, etc.

Hi Larry,

I checked this finally with a Windows 10 computer and I also see the pro use message at start up. We do sell two different USB keys. The $30 USB key is simply to unlock the home use version from demo mode. Could you be using that key by mistake?

That was the problem!.  I purchased the "professional Key" however the 30 dollar key was sent.The Professional Hasp key arrived and worked as advertised immediately.
