Does XP auto update?, if not, how do I update?

HI, I'm new to XP, just got whatever latest version was about 3 weeks ago direct from this site, but not sure it if now will be auto updating or if I have to manual update, and if so, how? Is there a link?

I am not from Laminar Research; just a flight simmer.

As you have indicated you are new to explain.  I strongly suggest you stay with the official latest version of X-Plane. ie version 11.26  Version 11.30 will be the next release version but is still in the testing phase before it is officially released.  11.30 has gone through the private and beta testing stages and is currently in what is called the release candidate release. When will it be released?  Unknown at this stage because there has been significant changes.

Because you have an official version ie not steam you will be given "good" notification version 11.30 has been released.

Welcome to X-plane.but don't dabble in unofficial releases as yet.

wow, that I def did not consider, so big thanks to you Glenn.  I agree, I have no reason to mess with stuff that’s not officially released yet, there’s enough with the default to enjoy.

nevermind, I found the answer in the manual. "general-About X-Plane, to updates. Just threw me off because on start-up it says 11:26 but here on site there is a 11:30 version, but maybe I read wrong.
