Custom Scenery won't load

Question

Hello,

I have downloaded KBOS Boston Logan International airport scenery from MisterX. I know that it is meant for X-Plane 10, but others have it running on 11. Anyways, I unzipped the file, copied the three folders (Airport scenery, Ground Traffic and Orthophotos), and ran X-Plane to get the updated INI file. After closing X-Plane, I opened and edited the INI file to match the order that was specified on the download site. So, with the installation finished, I ran X-Plane and spawned at KBOS. The orthophotos showed up, however none of the buildings were displayed. Any help here? I have tried re-downloading it thinking it was corrupted files, but it still wouldn't load. I even tried downloading "XAddonManager" and having that install it. Still nothing. I checked the Log and it picked up the scenery, but yet it still didn't show up. Any ideas??

I looked into my MisterX6’s KBOS scenery after reading your post.  Surprised to discover that the airport buildings were indeed missing.  After some investigations, I realized there are only two subfolders and two files inside the “KBOS – Boston Logan International” folder.  That seemed to be too few--especially with the requisite “Earth nav data” folder absent.  When I checked with my archived zip file for this scenery, the airport folder actually contains 17 files and subfolders.  After replacing the rightful files and folders, all the extra buildings come alive!

Check whether your Log.txt contains this: “0:00:25.225 I/SCN: DSF load time: 37103 for file Custom Scenery/KBOS - Boston Logan International/Earth nav data/+40-080/+42-071.dsf (0 tris, 0 skipped for 0.0 m^2)”.

That's very interesting! Although when I check my folder there are 17 files and subfolders, including "Earth nav data" and "Airport_Buildings." I checked my Log.txt file and found this: "0:00:31.530 I/SCN: DSF load time: 351378 for file Custom Scenery/airport_KBOS - Boston Logan International/Earth nav data/+40-080/+42-071.dsf (0 tris, 0 skipped for 0.0 m^2)." I will attach a screen shot of what my folder looks like. Thank you for your response and help. I deeply appreciate it.

Thank you very much for trying. If you don't mind, what type(s) of files are in your "/KBOS - Boston Logan International/Airport_Buildings" folder? I want to try to narrow this down to whether it's the scenery, X-Plane, or something I did with scenery organization.

There are .dds and .obj files like the screenshot below.  Plus 3 more .png files.  Total of 119 files.

Well, after getting the airport scenery to work, I noticed this scenery is very frame rate hungry.  To the point that I have decided to remove it.  So don't feel bad if you should choose to give up on it.
