FSX and P3D do it automatically, but I like to use the thumbwheel type button on the top of both my CH products yoke and flight stick to look around the cockpit real easily.  I have never been able to do that with any version of X-Plane.  Does anyone know what key assignment I can use so I can scroll my view around the cockpit easily with a 360 degree button?  To me it is a critical feature and the only reason I have never bought X-Plane.

Hi drheim

I'm not from Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK, but when you say "thumbwheel type button", do you mean the top hat switch?

Also what model of CH products are you using?

If you do mean the top hat switch, then I use exactly that to scroll around the cockpit view @ 360 degrees with my Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X.

In fact, X-Plane 11 sets this up automatically!!

Yes - Top hat switch is probably the correct name and thank-you for letting me know as it helps in my searches, but still not finding much.  I just completely rebuilt a new system and have the same issue with X-plane 11 I have always had where the top hat switch does not pan around the virtual cockpit.  I installed FSX and P3D and it works fine on those.  I have tried to assign the forward view and the sideways view to the different directions, but that sucks in comparison.  This is on both the CH Products yoke and CH products flight stick, but they are several years old.  If anyone knows the key assignment on X-plane 11 for the top hat switch so I can casually look around the cockpit please let me know. - Thanks

Hi again

Please see following link, do you have the top hat settings as shown in the Joystick settings page?

I think that got it just be resetting them to defaults.  Not sure why I have always had issues, but it seems to be working now.  Thanks
