The IPAD control App xplane professional, most of the failure functions on the app do not work in the program.

Question

I am a non-profit flight training school (virtualaviationmn.com) and I purchased X plane professional.  When using the IPAD application to control the Laminar Research C172 aircraft I have found the Applications ability to insert a failure in the C172 is less than accurate, and mostly does not work.  This is not what was advertised when I was deciding to purchase the professional version of Xplane.  Can I get some assistance with this please?
