The website does not say anything about i9. I am going to buy a PC but I do not want to buy one that will not run X-Plane 11.

For people who have i9 instead of i7 or i5, what is the difference in the gameplay, because I am sure there is a difference.

Hi JordanI903

I'm not with Laminar Research, just a fellow simmer in the UK, but you should not have any issue running X-Plane 11 on a PC with an Intel i9.xxxx CPU as long as it's faster than 3.0GHz.

This is however very much dependant on the rest of your system specification, particularly the GPU which is just as important, if not more so, than the CPU when it comes to frame rate etc.

Please see LR's minimum and recommended hardware requirements at the following URL: https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-11-system-requirements/.

Hi Jordan,

I am not from Laminar Research; just a flight simmer from downunder.

Unless you have a specific purpose for an i9 processor ie an editing business etc other than for X-Plane don't waste your money.  Listen well in the links  provided below for what the i9-9900k is really good for - not X-Plane.

I understand the i9 processor has more than 4 cores.  X-Plane only utilises 4 cores so to go to an i9 will give you no extra benefit.  Have a loook at the following link found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWVngv3iAvY from Michael Brown of XForcePC.  Michael has a business that specialises in building PCs predominantly for X-Plane.  Laminar Research recommends this business as the only supplier of PCs suitable for X-Plane within the USA.  Have a look at the comments below the video.  Michael aplogises for marking the 9900k as an i7 and not as an i9 CPU

Have a look at the following link from Michael found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYQOAuC1sp0

Also have a look at the following link as well found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nt4Q7eqtrNA

Good luck in making a choice on using the i9.  I have the i7-8700K.
