XPlane 11 will not start after downloading

Question

Brand new Dell XPS desktop, Nvidia 1050Ti graphics card, 1-TB HD, 250 SSD - nothing else on PC. Downloaded Xplane 11 and when I click to start the screen turns black. Only when I hit control, alt, delete and open task manager I get a brief image of the tour with C-172. When I go to close task manager the screen turns black again. I am unable to use this flight simulator.

Hi Tom,

I am not with Laminar Research; just a flight simmer from downunder.

What processor do you have?  What version of X-Plane are you using?  Are you trying to run X-Plane from the X-Plane (or xplane) .exe file found in the root directory? 

If you are running the official and original version of X-Plane then attach your log.txt file so that others with a greater knowledge base than me may be able to solve your problem.

If you are running steam then you need to take your problem to a steam forum.  Steam is a 3rd party hybrid (modified) version of X-Plane.  It installs differently to the official Laminar Research version.  Laminar does not sell or support steam.
