Dear Sirs

We are interested in developing a flight simulator based on X-Plane but using a mixed reality headset.

Our intention is to merge the image generated by the graphic engine of X-plane and the images captured by the cameras of the mixed-reality headset so that some areas of the image shown on the headset will be generated by the graphic engine of X- plane while others will be replaced by parts of the image from the cameras of mixed-reality headset. For the implementation of this application we want to use "shaders" and have access to the color buffer for its manipulation before the image is sent to the mixed reality headset screens.

Does the X-Plane SDK allow the use of "shaders" and access to the color buffer?

Hi jmarinor,

I am not from Laminar Research; just a flight simmer from downunder.

I respectfully suggest you read my answer provided in the following link found at https://questions.x-plane.com/25421/when-will-the-control-pad-be-available-for-android

Good luck
