Hi there, I'm highly anticipating the release of X-Plane 11, and want the best iMac I can get (afford as well) to run it.

Should these Specifications run X-Plane 11 well?

iMac 27 Inch Retina 5K Display

4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz)

32GB (two 16GB) of 1867MHz DDR3 memory

1TB of flash storage (SSD)

AMD Radeon R9 M395X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory

I really love the Mac Platform so would love for X-Plane 11 to run well on one of my favourite platforms and devices.

Thanks!

X-Plane 11's recommended specs are available here

I use Macs as well and generally prefer them, however if you are considering buying a new computer, you may find that PCs will give you comparable graphics power and storage for a lower cost. Just a thought.

Not trying to lash out or anything haha, but I was curious why all of you Laminar Research folks seem to use Macs. I feel like I always see Austin and Ben with a MacBook. :)

From a non-coder perspective, my understanding is that it's easier to program on the Mac OS. I'm not saying they're not good & useful machines, but I do believe they're pretty expensive for gaming purposes.

Yes, I do not consider them for gaming.

When Austin and the team make the trailers for X-Plane, do they use a Mac? They should have a Desktop PC on the ready if they want to do some vigorous tests.

Also, (from a non-coder perspective), I have heard Linux is also great for coding.
