27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display

  • 4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz
  • 16GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM - two 8GB
  • 1TB Fusion Drive
  • AMD Radeon R9 M390 with 2GB video memory

It sounds quite adequate; my only concern would be the 2GB video memory... X-Plane can very easily use greater than 2GB... usually between 2GB and 3GB VRAM, depending on the settings.

I think I'll go for more video memory:

  • 3.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
  • 16GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM - two 8GB
  • 256GB Flash Storage
  • AMD Radeon R9 M395X with 4GB video memory
