Hi there guys,

have an Acer V3 572PG notebook with an i7 5500U, 8 GB of RAM and 2gb of dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 840M and the problem is that, I have the latest version of x-plane 10 and even if the settings are set to the lowest (minimal), it still is very stuttery. I get about 50FPS (even in medium setting) then the frame rate will jump about, I also have the refresh rate of monitor thing on. So, in summary, this decent notebook even on the minimal settings is very laggy and stutters, even on minimal settings. I don't know if it's my notebook at fault or what. What settings would I need to set to have a good flight? Please help!

Thank you!

Would you be able to post all of your rendering settings? If not, check that clouds are around ~10-20%, HDR is off, texture compression is on. Those should help.

Yes, the clouds are low and compression is also on. But I still don't understand what's going on. Is it my machine at fault? The rendering settings would be the setting that would automatically appear when you will click 'minimal'. Is my notebook weak? Please help.

From just looking quickly at your specs, it seems you should be able to run at least minimal settings, without too much lag. Are you running any other aircraft, e.g. traffic alongside your aircraft? Since you only have a dual-chip processor, this could be the cause of some problems. Other than that, what type of aircraft are you running - heavily plugin-driven 3rd party a/c or the default ones? Also any plugins being used?

Whenever I use a heavy aircraft, the lag increases, but with a lighter aircraft such as the Baron, it decreases, but still ain't perfect. Still stutters a lot. I don't know what a plug in is, but I am not using any 3rd party aircraft but default ones.  Thanks for you help, looking forward to you helping me!
