Trouble downloading xplane11

I just purchased xplane11 order ID #Meyer-000000146635

I've tried numerous times to download it but keep getting the message "Permission denied.  Perhaps you don't have access to a directory or file system".  After running what was downloaded, the scenery is all water.  XPlane without scenery is useless.  Please help.

Please make sure you are using the latest installer and that you are installing to the desktop. Installing in program files or the C: drive root (and possibly other places) can cause issues with permissions on Windows computers.

I had the system and on an iMac running El Capitan.

 

Its tedious doing a long download only to get this at the end- despite clicking through "continue" when it can't find missing files.

Is it looking for unloaded areas as I only wanted Europe USA and Australasia as part of the map options
